HCM in Cats

Thank again
I am Not negative about the cardiology vet or my cat. I am negative about the total lack of data and awareness of this prevalent disease. I am on a mission to change this.
I am tiring to get cardiology clinic and calling all over with local connections.
I want to change the level of awareness and have the media and participate in the education process. The Savannah Illustrated is interested in the topic and they can be influential since the breed is so new to the public and more breeders are now breeding this beautiful cat breed. With awareness funds can be razed and studies can be initiated.

Nothing again alternative approaches but that will not change the education process and outcome of HCM or the Savannah cat breed.

I want Romeo to be a role model and in Savannah Illustrated to impact HCM in all cats and Savannah breed....and I want him to initiate studies for better treatment and genetic testing.

I am very positive that Romeo can do this and that is not a negative position that I am in.

If you want Romeo to be a role model for HCM research the place to reach out to is the Winn Foundation, not Savannahs Illustrated. A magazine is not going to fund research or improve outcomes, but the Winn foundation has made great strides in many areas of feline research.

Thanks
The Winn foundation has lots of feline studies and cure is far from reality for feline HCM. They are lots of cats with this. Romeo is just another cat unless experimental ablation can done.
The Winn foundation can start a national HCM registry and that could be a good direction to track natural outcome and therapy.

Public awareness and breeder awareness can be done with a magazine that promotes the new breed. Screening yearly ECHO is the best we can do and is not done.

More clinic can help.
Prevention and genetic pedigree can be done at the local level and promote better dx. Most cats do not have the opportunity to be tested or treated until close to a fatal event.

I sent a email to them as well as want to donate in memory of Marquise and now Romeo's benefit.

I'm not sure how this might be any different from your own vet auscultating your pet's heart, especially when it's not being done by a cardiologist.
