Hmmm, I thought Tupac came from the Incas, as in Tupac Amaru who led an uprising against the Spanish in Peru. Later there was a revolutionary movement named the same and this is where the rapper got his name, Tupac Amaru Shakur.
Not really wanting to debate this, but if there is a hint of impropriety best to leave it be and I'm fairly certain that Tupac as an african name only came to be after Tupac Shakur met his untimely fate.
