Help...need to find a raw food supplement for my F4 Savannah with food allergies!!

As long as the raw diet is balanced with 80%muscle meat , 10% bone and 10% organs you are OK with just adding taurine (and you only need that because it's rabbit). Just double check the bone content in your mix. Hare Today used to have too much bone in their ground raw so you'd need to add some boneless meat.

Have you tried him with beef?
Bless your heart!!!

Try out the beef hearts first...my cats cannot tolerate beef hearts, but do well with duck hearts, turkey hearts...

@DumaLove - can you post some of your recipes for people here? Thanks

Hi there. Aside from the excellent advice from DumaLove, let me add that most taurine is from China. I refuse to add supplements from China and found that Fel-O-Taurine from Thomas Labs is 100% sourced from the US. Taurine is water soluable so any excess is pee'd out so there is no danger of over-supplementing. My cats get both ground (with bone) and chunked meat. Because my ingredients (the amount of organ meat) vary from batch to batch of ground, I always add taurine just to be on the safe side.

My cats are fine with chicken so I use Mazuri. but you can always create your own supplement mix from human grade vitamins.

Be careful with the dosage of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) as the excess does not get flushed out and can be toxic..

Hi Paige and thank you for your response. I will try the beef hearts slowly, but I also thought of the duck hearts because I know they have a lot more taurine. Both of my cats absolutely love freeze dried duck liver as it is, so maybe the duck hearts will be an easier transition.

Hi Rafiki. When I searched for taurine I avoided anything made in China. I did end up buying the fel-o-taurine from Thomas labs :) I have considered adding my own vitamins but a lot of the recipes call for egg, that is optional correct? Because if I skip the egg, would there be another substitute or would I just mix the vitamins with water? As I said he cannot tolerate pretty much any chicken product. Thank you for your response you guys have all been great!!

I use Mazuri so I do not follow this formula. My cats despise the eggs so I never use them in my mix of ground. I use bottled water (because giardia is often in the water supply here) to dissolve the taurine before mixing it into the meat.
