Another question about raw.

So, from what I've read, feeding raw REALLY helps with the smell of poop.

Since starting Kovu on raw his poop has a ridiculously bad odor. Like, I want to bathe him after ever bowel movement. Even my four year old son complained about the smell & he (at times) can be as dirty as they come. lol He isn't usually one to complain of a smell.

He didn't ever smell like that when we were just feeding him the Blue Buffalo. Could it just be from his tummy getting used to the raw? Is there like, a transitional period where it may make his tummy funky for awhile? Cause goodness, this stinks!

Did you gradual switch he over to the raw? It could be his system adjusting to the raw and will go away. That did not happen to us and yes, we have no poop smell at all here.

Yes. He has been eating it for almost a week. The first couple days I put about 1/4 of a medallion in with his food (he'll only eat it if its mixed). Now we are at half a medallion. He isn't having diarrhea or anything, its just an awful smell.

It could be though the raw mixed with the canned food. It is not the raw causing the smell.

I would give it time for his system to adjust.
