Broken toe help

I'm at the vet now with Julius who managed to break a toe... He is getting ex rays as we speak but you can see the swelling and his claw is visible twisted. Has any one dealt with this or have any suggestions ? They are saying he may have to get a splint/cast. He is still very active but is clearly favoring that paw

I can't imagine them splinting/casting a toe on a cat anymore then a human.

Hopefully, he'll heal up just fine regardless!

Well it is broken and they are saying 3/4 weeks of quarantine ... Clearly this isn't going to go over well but must be done... We are very upset by the news and I'm sure he will be too...

I had a kitten take a dive out of an upper story window and break a bone in his foot. They tried to put a splint/cast on it but he removed one a day and we gave up. Within a week he wasn't even limping though, so it healed fast.

There's a saying amongst vets about if a cat has a broken bone just make sure the two parts are in the same room and they will knit....

Did you quarantine him ?
