Chewing EVERYTHING

My F4 Savannah chews on everything! She is 9 years old and I am at my wits end! We buy her toys she plays then starts to eat her toys. If she does eat them she barfs them up. I’ve tried finding high protein foods for her thinking it’s that, but she is allergic to some foods. I try to find toys for her, but they are for “regular“ cats. Also she inhales her food! Doesn’t chew. After eating, barfing. Please help if you can!

First, you should try offering her tough, indestructible toys like Kong toys (dog toys can be given to cats as well). Is she chewing/ eating other things besides her toys? Some cats suffer from pica, which is the drive to eat inappropriate things such as dirt, hair bands, etc.

As for the wolfing down food, there are food dishes made specifically to help slow down a pet's eating, this is one example but there are many different ones available:

It sounds like she is suffering from pica. You should take her to your vet, he might be able to discover a nutritional deficiency causing her problem. Otherwise he might offer you some behavior modification techniques and possibly medication such as fluoxetine that might help her. There are also animal behavioralists that might be able to offer you help. It's important to remove any possible targets of her obsession - if she eats the wrong thing she could develop a bowel obstruction, which can be a costly nightmare.

Try using slow feeder bowls to help her eat more slowly and prevent barfing. Puzzle feeders and durable chew toys can keep her engaged and reduce inappropriate chewing. Consult with your vet for a high-protein, hypoallergenic diet and consider feeding her smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day.
