Sahara gets fed 3 times a day between 70-80 grams (wet food) and weighs 2kgs but she still feels hungry, I'm I doing this right or do I need to feed her more?

Thank you.

You may need to feed her more...how old is she again? Kittens go through growth spurts and just need more food in general...I feed my kittens as much as they want...

General guideline is to feed a minimum of 2% bodyweight for an adult, sedentary cat. Kittens of her weight, if highly active, should be eating a minimum of 3 oz per day (around 80 grams). BUT, never deny a healthy, growing kitten food. Feed her a bit more per day (say, 6-8% of bodyweight) spread out over 4 meals. Try feeding her the last meal near bedtime. You can't overfeed her at this point. The consequences of underfeeding would be dire.

Hi Debora,

Sahara is very active. So do I feed her just over 80 grams per each meal?

What I mean is if I feed her four times a day that's 80 grams X 4

I would feed her 1.25 ounces 4 times per day (or 3 times per day if it's not convenient to do 4 meals) for a total of 5 oz. per day (sorry, you'll have to do conversion to grams). If there's food left over then decrease the amount; if she eats it all and still acts hungry increase amount a little bit.

I do it the old fashion way.... Cut up meat put it on a plate, she eats till she is full. Do that3 times a day. Sometimes she asks for a snack before bed.
