Egyptian Mau vs. Savannah

Glenn was looking at cat breeds online & asked what the difference was between an Egyptian Mau & a lower generation Savannah? Is anyone on this site fromiliar with Mau's? All he sees is spotted kitties.

Are you talking about physical differences? An Egyptian Mau has different eye shape, different ears, different head structure, and is not as tall or lanky as a Savannah.

Yes Patti, physical difference. He was looking at bronze ones & they just look so much like Kovu does. lol

Well, Egyptian Maus were a permissible outcross before Savannahs went to Championship, so it's very possible that Kovu has some EM features

Thats what I told Glenn. lol I said I think they used to breed EMs with Savannahs. We sent off for his pedigree last week, so hopefully we should get that back soon.

I did some searching in my boys and great grandparents on the mothers side is Maine Coon (tabatha) and serval (kita). So you get maine coons as well.
