EVO- what do you think?

So, since this recall of Diamond food products.....TOTW is what my cats have been eating for at least the last three to four years.....OK, my concern is, that Diamond has had other recalls recently,and in the past; as well....so I say forget Diamond(my opinion)(although my dog still eats it...and I feel he likes it; it's good for him; blah, blah)(and also he didn't have his recalled and make him sick!!!)......but for my cats;Yeah no more. I am so sick of all these recalls because of salmonella. So, since I had my refund from WAG.com(where I got my sickly salmonella food), I decided to go another route. I know I should try raw; but all things considered; I think it may be a bit more expensive than the kibble route;(correct me if I'm wrong). I have NOTHING against raw. I want something completely high quality, and absolutely nutritious for my furbabies... So since I had a 29.99 credit....I decided to try EVO for my kitties. Ok....first of all this is more expensive than TOTW...I paid 21.99 for 6.6lbs (when TOTW was 29.99 for 15lbs) ; but I wanted something that was comparable in ingredients, and protein, fat, taurine, etc.....So it gets delivered today....and NEITHER one of my cats will touch it!!!! I know that they have been on the other food for a while(plus By Nature canned).....and Shyla is only 7 months old....so she's maybe just being picky I suppose. But my siamese, Saki won't touch it either; and he's a fatso, that will eat just about anything.. So what do you guys suggest? Do any of you feed EVO? Or should I just go raw? Any other suggestions? I am just worried and don't want to break the bank....but this EVO is NOT cheap.......so just curious on any input. I'm very discouraged right now, on this whole situation......and it's just because SHYLA especially really likes TOTW...and she has been upset the last few days that it, (TOTW) hasn't been in the bowl....she won't eat the canned now, and really looked upset when I put EVO in the bowl twenty minutes ago! I feel so bad, and my husband said "they won't starve, there's food there...they are just being picky" Do you think he's right? Shyla is already skinny....I just feel bad now, and not sure what I should do.... Please give me any input you suggest.....

Michelle, maybe you can try Stella & Chewy's, Felines Pride or something similar - raw, but you don't have to do the grinding...Stella & Chewy's is an absolute favorite here - but the Dog version - the cat version makes them vomit for some reason...

I was thinking of Feline Pride, Paige...The price was good, online(at Wag)....but I want to opt out of buying online; Just cuz of the hoops I had to jump through to get a refund on a RECALLED product!!!! There was a store that was right down the street from me that had all types of raw (tons of freezers/ fridges) for dogs and cats.....but she just moved, not too far; but a distance nonetheless.....but the woman who owns the store is a holistic Vet, go figure., and one of the awesomist (lol spelling; but not really a word anyway!)people I know!!! But she had always told me that raw was best.....she was the one who took care of my Bengal; Kitty; in her terminal days last July, August and Sept... She came to my house EVERY DAY to see how kitty was. This chick is purely going to Heaven....But she was the one who put Kitty on Fussie Cat(which I had NEVER heard of, at that time) Because of her kidneys and vomiting.... And that was a saving grace for my poor Kitty!!!! She ended up putting ON weight after she was so sick for some time; after a while though, there was nothing we could do......and Kitty passed away in Sept. So, Paige, Or anyone else, think that I should just switch to raw? I mean this EVO is quite expensive....and I'm thinking if I go ahead with this(EVO) ; We are looking at about 22 bucks for 3 weeks, maybe; when I WAS spending about 30 for TOTW(which would last about 2 1/2 months) aside from the cans too, but By Nature is quite inexpensive; and they like that too.....but for some reason, Shyla really likes dry, and TOTW......I feel bad now...awww OH YAY... I talked to Paige(the lady at the store...Paige's Healthy Paws) and she told me to come in and she'd give me samples of some raw so I can get an idea of what will be good for the cats, and what they like.(sorry this happened as I was writing this! lol) Do you think they will be sick though if they haven't had it? I mean I give them boiled/baked chicken every now and then, and beef......but not real often..

RIP KITTY.....5/5/97--9/13/11........My first and only (before Shyla) female kitty cat... She was the first QUEEN in my home...Shyla has some BIG paws to fill!!! Shyla was born on 9/14/11..and I believe she has Kitty's soul.
Now I have tears.....I miss my baby girl.

Paige, Stella & Chewy's ... how do you prepare for giving to your pets, and sorry if you have stated before. There are multiple dog flavors, is there one that your pets prefer most?

My kitten eats the S&C lamb, duck or chicken flavors. Beef and fish did not agree with him

Michelle - sounds good!!! You are lucky to have found someone like your holistic vet...take the samples and introduce slowly is what I would do, Michelle...And I'm so sorry about Kitty!!! Shyla very well mat have Kitty's soul

Rob - the goose doggie S&C...I use the freeze dried raw and just rehydrate it with warm water.

Ah, so I wonder if that is why my guys vomited - I got them beef and chicken mixture...maybe I will try just the feline chicken and see if it is ok for them...

Yes, I feed him the frozen patties thawed, but the beef and the fish came right back up . The other varieties I mentioned he can't get enough of. I'm gonna try the feline chicken freeze tried I think too. Although rehydrating is near impossible with my little screamer. He starts at it as soon as he hears the plastic bag opening.

I wonder what it is about the beef? They eat chicken and beed canned food...weird...
