Excited to Share The Savannah Adventure With You All!!

Hello everyone! I am so excited that I was accepted into this great community! I just want to introduce myself and tell you a little about my baby Nala an F2 savannah.
Before I get into her I want to share that I used to have an F3 boy named Simba but he recently died from FIP. I tried to fight it but it got so bad I had to put him down. My heart still hurts and I think Nala feels the loss as well. I will post pictures of him.
I got Nala about 5 months ago and boy does she have the savannah personality. This is my first time owning a savannah so I was pleasantly shocked at the amount of energy Nala had. She wants to play all the time and her curiosity knows no bounds. She likes to love bite me if I stop petting her, she will even go under the covers to love bite me. She seems pretty vocal, always meowing and looking at me, I think I've figured out what half of it means. I've been working on leash training so if any of you have advice for a first timer like me in anything please let me know. She is only 10 months old so I know that she still has some physical growing to do. I have fallen deeply in love with my Savannah and when I am ready will be adopting another savannah cat. I truly believe 2 cats are better than one.
Nala is also unique because her father had lynx in him, she has the softest fur and polydactyl paws. I have no idea how big she will get but I am excited to share her growth and experiences with all of you. Once again it is great meeting you all and being accepted into the savannah community Love 2Love 2Love 2Love 2Love 2

Ps. Simba is the darker one looking into the camera. The single photo is of Nala. IMG_6762.jpg IMG_7265.jpg

Welcome aboard,
Sorry to hear about your loss,
My male aways puts his teeth on me or takes a nibble but only if I'm on my bed other wise he just loves to play and jump.. Oh pick on his sister..
I take mine out every day the male wants out till he hits the porch.. The female goes right out like a dog..
They both sit @ the door and site to be fitted with they're harness.

Enjoy them.

Welcome to you and Nala!

Definitely the "lynx" would be unusual..is she from Domestic Wildcats? There's not too many breeders mixing breeds into our Savannahs nowadays...

Welcome! Nala is a very pretty little lady! When you say lynx I assume you mean Highland Lynx? Must be one of Taran's babies...

Hi Jujubean
I too am a new member to Savannah cat chat, isn't it wonderful, so helpful and informative.
Unfortunately I also lost a kitten to FIP last year, our beautiful baby Ravi who was only 7months old. (Bengal)
I totally feel the pain & loss you went through, it's an awful chapter to experience, unfortunately I didn't research the breeder thoroughly enough, and have to put the whole heartbreaking situation down to experience. Ravi will never be forgotten.
On a lighter note, Nala is certainly a beautiful girl. May I wish you many happy years together. What a wonderful journey to begin. I'm a new Savannah mummy to Vito f4, he's 8 months old now and helping so much to heal our broken hearts.
