today is the third day kitty has been a picky eater. She has turned her nose up at many flavors of canned food.( One's she has eaten before and enjoyed. ) beef, hamburger, chicken(all raw) She nibbles on dry but doesn't eat enough to equal to a meal. I have poured tuna water over her food, and she still won't eat her food. She is very good about drinking water( drinks a lot of water),so I am not concerned about her not getting enough liquid. She has gone through periods like this before but only for one day .....NEVER THREE DAYS. She is playing and acting ok. Should I be concerned?

I take it she is not throwing up at all, and doesn't seem sensitive if you palpate her belly? She may just have decided to be particularly stubborn this time but if it continues for much longer I would consider having your vet check her out.

Thanks for your response. No vomiting. today day 4 and no change. Tried to get her in to her vet ( not her regular doc, as she is not in today) today but they are booked. They will call me if they have a cancellation this afternoon. Otherwise tomorrow at two. I even opened a can of our tuna and poured tuna juice over her food. She licked a bit of the juice and that was it. She has been having good BM's everyday. I haven't felt her tummy, I will do that when I return home. WHAT TO DO .....WHAT TO DO....
Her vet did mention feeding raw chicken one must be cautious as kitties can get samonillia. (Hope I spelled that correctly)

Salmonella is a parasite found in raw chicken. It is harmful to us humans, but not to cats because their stomach acid is so high and they are carnivores. Plus, they already have loads of bacteria in there and it doesn't do them any harm.

She did eat a tablespoon of food last night and the same this morning. Still taking her in today! She's sleeping in a chair right next to me.....sleeping like a little angel. She has come a long way since her arrival 15 months ago. Visiting the vet and her regular doc isn't in and we see a colleague, after reviewing her chart they are always shocked at the amount of parasites and how sick she was. Kitty wasn't socialized at all as breeder stated. Yesterday morning at 2:30 am for the first time kitty jumped into my lap made a half circle turn...... Curled into a ball and slept for 28 mins. I was cold and had to go potty.... But I didn't move a muscle for 28 mins. I savored every second. I've waited 15 months for that speechless moment.

Just a heads up that cats can indeed get Salmonellosis and suffer from a number of symptoms -- diarrhea possibly with blood & mucous present, anorexia, fever, persistent fever and lethargy without diarrhea, abdominal pain, septicemia. Not saying this is what she had, just correcting what others have said previously in the thread.

Correct... They don't get it as often as humans, but they do get it... E coli is something else that cats get from raw food
