How long after nuter for hormones to disapate

In my experience it varies depending on the boy. I have had some who never spray after they are neutered, others that may go for 2-3 weeks with an occasional spray. My girls are by far the worst though, I've had a couple that have never stopped spraying.

I had a 6 year old male neutered who was the world's worst sprayer. From the moment I brought him home from the vet, he never sprayed once....as Patti says, it can depend on the boy. I was fully expecting it to take weeks or months for him to stop spraying after neutering and was pleasantly surprised. On the other hand, I have known of males that continued to spray long after neutering, although the tendency does go away with time.

I actually neuterd a male that was almost 7. He has not sprayed since the neuter...although ...he was never a hoser to begin with.

I might add...if he is in rescue...it will be possible to visit him and see if their is evidence of spraying. The nose will answer the question;>)
