I think I have created a monster ...

For those of you that don't know, Mr Wonderful, "Abu" ... he loves his food. Its amazing what he will eat. I have recently learned the folly of sharing my sandwiches with him.

There is not a loaf of bread that is safe in my house. He has associated bread, with the yummy lunch meat that he has grown accustomed to finding in between the slices of bread.

I have a bread box with a roll back lid, but this was only a deterant for a day or two. He has now learned that if he flips the bread box over, it is very easy to get the lid to roll back in. Thus exposing the treasure within ...

My dog has become Abu's biggest fan. Abu takes a couple of bites out of each piece of bread and moves on to the next piece. When he moves on to the next piece in the loaf's bag, Misty eats the recently abandoned bread. I know this because I recently caught the dynamic duo red handed ...

I would really prefer not to have to buy a lock for my breadbox ... do you all have any other suggestions?

Oh wait a gosh darn minute Rob, you teach Abu bad habits and then come to us for help!? I have the perfect solution -- a bear box. The advantage is twofold -- keeps kitty out and it's large enough for you to fit easily inside when you eat your sandwich. :big grin:

I would take bread eating over wire eating any day! LOL Our bread is pretty safe. But we keep it in the cabinet above the sink just in case.
