Kibeti is seriously ill

Just wanted to share with people I know will understand. Our Kibeti is about 1 1/2 yrs old, and I am waiting on the results of a biopsy of intestinal tract. Symptoms - he just stopped eating and drinking, started rounds to vet, suspected pancreatitis based on blood work. Took him to specialty vet on Monday, had ultrasound, dark liver, enlarged spleen, and one enlarged lymph node on lung. Still would not eat on Monday night even with stimulant so took him in Tues for feeding tube and Endoscopy. We are now waiting for results of biopsy. Internist suspects either IBD or Lymphoma. He is very lethargic, but twice has eaten 1/2 can of Hills A/D, we are also giving him Clinicare when he does not eat on his own. The really crazy thing is he has not had vomiting or diarrhea prior to this, which I would have expected. The one other thing that changed just before he quit eating is his coat changed from rough to silky feeling. Waiting is the hard part, I know he is getting fluids and nutrients now, just do not know what is wrong.

I'm so sorry to hear about Kibeti!

A feeding tube is good in that it gives the cat the nutrition he needs...my DSH, Cisco, had a feeding tube after he suddenly stopped eating...he was dx with pancreatitis and IBD...but...based on ultrasound, I was told he had lymphoma...once they opened him up, there was no lymphoma, so I am so happy I did so...

He started eating on his own about 2-3 months after the feeding tube, allowing it to come out...

Please let us know how Kibeti is doing!

Poor Kibeti :-(

I hate waiting too, so I hope they could put a rush on the biopsy...

I'm a little confused why IBD if the ultrasound didn't highlight any issue with the intestines? I read lung, liver and spleen showed issues?

Hoping they come up with a treatable diagnosis...

The Vet Internist is the one who mentioned IBD and Lymphoma after doing the Endyscopy, there is thickening of the walls of both the stomach and intestine. The radiologist who did the ultrasound did not mention anything about the intestine,(done Monday) but did agree with the pancreatitis, however Internist says no to Pancreatitis, (done Tues).
