LuLu

We were adopted by a beautiful little lady a few weeks ago. We named her LuLu. She was just a stray, we thought, that wandered up to our porch to eat. I didn't figure we would see her that night. After a day she followed me in the house. She is very loving, quite docile, has no problem with either of our dogs, or our two little human girls. She keeps to herself, growls at the other cats, but never strikes out.
It has now been 2 1/2 weeks, her behavior hasn't changed much at all, a little less growling.
She has gained weight, and feels a lot healthier. However she seems poofy around her mid section. Do ya'll think she may be pregnant or ill? We call her our emo kitty.

Okay, for some reason I can only get one photo of LuLu to uplaod. Hopefully, this helps. I just need someone with an eye for this sort of thing.
If there are anymore questions about her personality traits or disposition just ask.

Do you have any pictures looking straight down on her, do her sides look sort of like she ate a small football when you stand over her and look down?

Does her belly feel firm or squishy? If it is firm she might be pregnant. If it is squishy she might be sick. Or... she might just like getting regular meals ;)

She is pretty firm, but let me ask this because I cannot recall ...
Would the firmness be up near her ribs or lower, closer to her tail?
I hope I am describing this properly.
I am working on that over head picture, but she is so fluffy its hard to tell. Her nipples arent bright pink, but there is no fur directly around them.
Would she be pissy with other cats if she is pg? Because she was at firstt but now she tolerates them. She never had any issue with the Chihuahuas.
I appreciate everyones help on this. I know she is no SV but I like her, and want to make sure I can take care of her properly.

The being pissy I think is more just being a new cat in a new home, getting used to things. Its hard to blame the behavior on being pregnant when she just came into the home and we have nothing to compare to. I have never dealt with a pregnant cat myself, but really isn't it more after the kittens are born that they may become protective?

I may just be in panic mode is all. Most of our rescues/Strauss have been male, ie Chester, so I've never had to concern myself with this aspect before.
She just may be taking longer to acclimate to her new home. But I don't recall any of them taking this ling to do so.
Hopefully she will come around.
Thanks,
Suzanne

If she's pregnant the entire abdominal area would be pretty firm, depending upon how far along she is. You might want to weigh her daily and see if she is gaining. Of course that could happen with FIP as well, but then you could also tell that there is fluid in the belly (squishy).
