Is this safe to give a nursing mother of 2 week old kittens to increase her appetite?

Now that's a curious question....
What prompted it?
It is not an FDA indication for humans. Is it indicated in animals?
Where's our resident vet, Per?

According to my Plumb's, mirtazapine is excreted in very small amounts in milk but the implications of this are unknown/unstudied. If you're having a serious issue with mom I would cautiously trial it, but monitor the kittens closely for oversedation.

Mirtazapine is used as an appetite stimulant and antiemetic in animals

Yes, it's to stimulate the appetite of a queen with 2 week old kittens. She has an URI and can't smell anything. The kittens are on antibiotic as a precaution and I'm supplementing them.
