So, water and cat barf do not damage it?
It's waterproof. Acidic material would stain the surface if left for hours, I think, but this stuff is pretty tough. I looked at a lot of brands and chose a relatively new one -- Core Tech -- because the vendor has it installed in commercial businesses around town so I could take a look at how it held up over time and in heavy foot traffic.

The other thing I love about it is the construction. There is a cork layer on the very bottom to help with sound absorption and hide imperfections in the underlayment. Then comes a layer made of limestone, virgin PVC, wood and bamboo dust which does not shrink or contract. Then comes the waterproof vinyl. I didn't want any transition strips between rooms and that 2nd layer means I'll have a seamless smooth floor throughout the entire house. The exceptions are where it meets a carpeted room and where it meets the foyer floor which is ceramic tile and a bit thicker.
