Pedigree name help

We have less then 2 weeks to bring our little boy home but have decided to name him Triton. But hoping to find something to go with it for the registration papers so looking for suggestions.

To hopefully help I'll give the reason we came up with Triton. First he is our 3rd cat so Tri means three. Next he has what looked like a u or horsehoe mark on him, while doesn't have the three prongs could sorta be like a triton. Then the greek god Tritons special attribute was a twisted conch shell, on which he blew like a trumpet to calm or raise the waves. Its sound was so terrible, that when loudly blown, it put the giants to flight, who imagined it to be the roar of a dark wild beast. And yes our little Triton has a nice loud meow and uses it often. lol Plus being the son of the sea god and many SV's liking water. And if that isn't enough their is the Ford Triton motor, my husband is a Ford man. hehe

Now he will have the prefix of Raganwood so have to take that in with the amount of spaces. :)

So any help would be great.

Also...he is a F4 with his mom being a C3S, would purchasing the 3 generation be enough to get everyone listed or do we need to get the 5 generation?

Thanks!

I think, without looking to count, that you have 35 space which includes spaces between words so lots of room to play here. :)

The three gen pedigree will give you most of what's on mom's side, but a 5 gen will really expand things out on the fertile males in his pedigree. For the few extra dollars, I like to get the most info possible and go with the 5 gen myself.

Triton is a real cutie, I'm sure you will come up with the perfect surname. As for the pedigree, well if he is meant to be a breeder then a 5-gen pedigree is probably your best choice, but if he is a pet then it only depends on how curious you are about his background.

Agreed, if only a pet it really does depend on how curious you are about his background... it's fun to see imho although your breeder should be able to furnish you with a pedigree if you don't want to go to the expense!

I agree, spend the extra couple of dollars and get the 5 Gen pedigree. I've found so much cool information (and still collecting more) about the cats on Shelby's Family Tree. His Great Grandfather was a Quad Grand Champion Bengal and was the 2002-2003 Bengal Of the Year, his Great Great Grandfather was the Bengal on the Publix Brand Cat Food bag in the Supermarket chain's store brand Adult cat food formula. So you can find out some pretty neat things about your cat's ancestors if you do the research. I've found most breeders on your Pedigree are happy to furnish you with information regarding their cats who are on your pedigree. I've been collecting pictures and stories of the cats on Shelby's pedigree for about 2 weeks now. Once I'm done, I think I might make a post showing it and the pictures and stories to go along with them. I think it'd be neat to see how Shelby came about. SV Geneology can be fun! lol

He will be neutered so it's just for my curiosity only. And I'll try and remember to ask my breeder next time I go visit. We usually get to talking about other things and playing with the kittens so I forget. hehe

As for his name for his papers still working on that. With our Bengals we came up with Baileys Irish Dream and Chasen Me Lucky Charms. Not sure if I can work in an Irish thing for Triton. lol At least we have time to figure it out.

Thanks everyone!

Those are really cute names for your Bengals :) I'm sure you'll figure something great out for Triton, you've got a good track record lol Yeah all the research I've done is also just for my own curiosity and enjoyment of Genealogy. Being that all F3 Males are sterile, this info certainly wont be useful for breeding purposes lol

We did the 3 generation on our F4, Kovu. Our first choice name for his pedigree papers was Mr. Kovu Cat, cause thats what Glenn wanted. If not he will be Sir Tubbington Kovu, because well, he is on the hefty side for a Savannah. :p
