SAVANNAH RESCUE NEEDS YOUR HELP TO HELP A SAVANNAH IN NEED!

A breeder in Canada had the last six Savannahs remaining from Spidersweb Savannahs suddenly landed on her home and cattery. Christine Avalon (Exotic Tails) has done a fabulous job with the cats: vetting them, vaccinating, altering... testing and treating for Tritrichomonas when needed. But unfortunately one of the older kittens, Jimmy a 10 month old F4 kitten, appears to have had fragile bones (questions about his previous diet arose) and despite being in a room with his siblings with no high cat trees or similar has broken his fibula and tibia. Given that this kind person had already stretched her finances to the hilt on the thousands in immediate vetting for the cats she took in unexpectedly, this just was beyond her finances.

Jimmy has been surrendered to Savannah Rescue so that we can get him the emergency veterinary help he needs. We know how generous the Savannah Community is, hence are asking for your help to help Jimmy. Please, if you can spare it, send a donation via Paypal to payment@svrescue.com and mark it "for Jimmy".

Jimmy was operated on today to put in pins to stabilize his leg, and will go home with Christine to be nursed through the recovery process before adoption. At that time we will be able to post more information and pictures of him. Please don't ask to adopt him right now, our focus is on his healing.

PS Yes, we are aware that his diet likely needs attention. He is currently getting good nutrition but it would take time to reverse any effects of the past.

Any Savannah with my real first name, spelled correctly, deserves a donation. DONE!

Christine reports that the surgery went well, and now Jimmy has weeks of rehab to go through. Before surgery, they did detect a Level 3 heart murmur, so as soon as the vet thinks Jimmy might be recovered enough, we will want to do a cardiac ultrasound to find out more there.

Thank you, John, for your very generous donation for Jimmy!

The response from the Savannah community for Jimmy's help has been incredibly heartwarming :)
