Primal Pet Food from San Fran

I've not used it as my cats are preferring rabbit nowadays and they don't offer that.

But I've been feeding a raw diet for ~12 years now, and my cats do great on it :)

They do offer rabbit I believe! I recently took him in for his last round of kitten shots and the vet was such a jerk once I told him that Zephyr was on a raw diet. They did tests on his stool and it came back with worm eggs and he's laughing and kind of told you so'ish but I really don't believe it's from the food. I'm upset that the vet acted that way but I don't want to take him off the raw. I believe the benefits are great with raw than commercial cat food.

I can't see a rabbit formula on their website... can you?

Yes, many vets are anti-raw...part of it is that they are worried in a somewhat reasonable way that many think a raw diet would just be giving them chicken breasts...and not paying attention to proper supplementation etc. But food that is commercially prepared raw diets are not going to contain worms. Silly vet.

Primal does have rabbit. This, and Primal venison is all Nyah will eat at the moment. She loves the venison! I supplement with canned food for fat as suggested here, she actually scarfed down Against the Grain's chicken samba, yay! I hope Kovu is less picky about his raw than Princess Nyah.

They have a "rabbit formula" which has fruits and vegetables in it. My cats won't eat it that way... any "formula" with stuff added and they turn their noses up. Primal does offer meat grinds without the fruit and vegetables but their website doesn't seem to have rabbit offered that way?

Is there a specific canned that has more fat?I've not heard of that before...

I feed her canned chicken in addition to the rabbit and venison as that has more fat. She eats the formula, I know she doesn't need the fruits and veggies, but it is something she will actually eat. Primal uses less of this than most of the others I read about in the already made stuff. Guess with 2 now I should break down and buy a grinder!

If your kitties are fine with it then there's no problem. Just mine won't touch anything with fruit and veggies added hence my options are more limited :)
