Hello I was wondering if there was some kind of chart or formula to predicting the adult size of savannah cats. I currently Have one f4 silver male that is around 10.5 weeks old and weighs about 4.25 lbs. His dad is an f5 i believe and he weighs around 33 lbs and his mom is a f3 that weights around 18 lbs. I was just wondering How big he can get?? 4.25 lbs seems a little big for a 10 week old kitten But I don't know.

Thanks

Jesse

Hi Jesse,

Welcome to SVcatchat.com. I have never seen a lower generation cat weigh 33 pounds. In fact, Trouble, the Guiness Book Record Holder, can't be 33 pounds- and he is a big, big boy! My own stud, who is a decent sized fella, is probably about 15 pounds and he is a lower gen.

As far as your own kitten- no, there are no charts to go off, but I would say 4 pounds at 10 weeks is a decent size kitten.

Hi Jesse,

Welcome!!! I have never heard of an F5 or even an F1 that weighed 33 pounds unless extremely overweight.

My F6, Taj weighed almost 5 pounds at 12 weeks and is now almost 16 pounds at 2.5 years...he is a big boy - huge paws, big bones...not really overweight but could probably lose a pound or so. Maybe this will give you an idea of size, alhtough there is never any guarantee.

My friends f-6 is 30 pounds, Trish, but he way over weight!!!! When I'm around her...People will ask what Keeba weights and I will say 12 pounds! and immediately she will say my f-6 is 30 LOL! finally looked at her one day and said; yeah 30 pounds of fat and her roomy agree, he needs a diet! My Keeba is tall and lean like a Savannah should be! I meet a f-1 that was 15pounds, but she is tall and way taller than Keeba.

So, yeah, no chart!

Keeba was 4pounds at 12weeks if I remember correctly! I was not to fixated on his weight and I'm glad because Keeba is such a good boy!!!:)

So MK, I guess my point was that a healthy weight for an F5 or F6 would not be 30+ pounds and therefore would not be an indication of kitten size...I should have clarified ;)

I can't even imagine... I mean- I told ya'll Liam went through a chunky stage, but 30+ pounds would far surpass chunky!
