Technical issues

I am experiencing issues with the site on a frequent basis. I will get a Java script error when I click on a thread or do a reply,or after clicking on a thread it will either do nothing or revert to the home screen. I am not sure if it is the site or perhaps on my end. I am using a Imac with OSX operating system.

If it is a Mac issue, do you have any recommendations? Note this is the only site I am having issues with at this point.

Lastly, is this the best way to report issues or is there a contact person we may advise directly?

Thank you for you help in this matter.

Hmmm...I use a Mac, OS X with no issues at all, so I'm not sure...you would have to let me know what the JS error is...you can contact admin@savannahcatchat.com or post here with technical issues...what browser are you using?

I will be upgrading the forum this week, so not sure if that will help or not...we shall see...

Do you get a black and red error message that says an unknown error has occurred?

When you leave the site open in your browser and sleep the computer, or you lose your internet connection, the alerts option in the site is triggering something that causes it to hiccup.

This happens to me a lot, I simply get back to the homepage or reopen the tab and all is well. Firefox v20 on OSX 10.8.3.

Hmmm...wonder if it's your Java version? If so, maybe you need a newer Java version or the newer version is causing some heck? As a side note, I actually had to remove the latest Java version and go back to an earlier version, as it was causing issues with a camera app I was trying to use. Currently I'm using Java version 1.6.0_43 on a MacBook Pro with 10.8.3 OS with no issues with this message board. Best of luck! ..dj

To check: Applications>Utilities>Terminal then type "java -version".

Im on a macbook pro as well using what I believe is the OS before the most recent update. I use chrome without an issue and I'm sure my java isn't up to date(asks me all the time to update it) but seems to work fine.

Here is the message I just received when I tried to log in and go to forum threads. I am pretty sure this is the message I have had repeatedly.

"The server responded with an error. The error message is in the JavaScript console."

But you did not answer what browser you are using and I need to know the JS code you are getting...if you are using FF or Chrome, you can use ctrl + shift + J to get the error message.
