Things you wish you knew before buying a Savannah?

You naughty little enabler...I think I participated in that discussion. I am a beg forgiveness rather than ask permission person which is why I have 3 SVs. Hubby has put his foot firmly down on the idea of another one but what can I do if one follows me onto a plane the next time I'm in California and the door closes and the plane takes off and the poor kitten gets scared and I just happen to have a carrier that fits under my seat....

LOL! I don't think anything the breeder would have said could have prepared me. What a strange little guy he is. He likes to follow me or sit with me - not usually right by me, he shows love in weird ways like getting right in my face while I'm sleeping and getting nose to nose and meowing as loud as he can! EVERYTHING is game unless it's food time then it's WHINE until I set it down for him!

I so want another one - even though he's high maintenance and more work than you would think a cat should be - it's SO rewarding.

We have Bengals as well, so the SVs actually seem to be well behaved...

I think I was pretty prepared for it.... I actually thought Kronos would be more destructive and alpha-cat than he really is. Instead he only gets into trouble by accident, like if he is running by something in play he might knock it over. I have never seen him intentionally destroy something... ok except for a cable he chewed through as a kitten but meh I don't count that lol!

I wish I knew about this breed sooner
I wish I knew that a high energy cat didn't mean a horrible thing that never sleeps - I would have looked into other breeds instead of looking only for "mellow" breeds
I wish I could explain to other people that getting love from this breed is unlike anything else you will ever experience~!!!

I think I was pretty well prepared for a Savannah when Simon came home... BUT- reading about it and hearing about it is totally different from actually enjoying the Savannah experience in person!

I wish I had known how head-in-heels in love I'd fall- and I wish I'd jumped in sooner!

Well here is a list of things I wish that Kronos didn't do.... that makes my list a whole lot longer!

I wish Kronos didn't meow every waking second of the day lol (ok he is quiet most of the time but when he meows, he MEOWS)

I wish he didn't steal things and play with them in the middle of the night

I wish he would stop jumping from above right on to my chest or stomach

I wish he slept with me at night

He will calm down as he gets older...

Those are all things Jengo could work on too! I love him talking but sometimes it's just too much and it's almost WHINING! LOL! I wish he'd be more content to come to be, instead he plays with my stuff inthe middle of the night before finally deciding to sleep on the floor next to me instead of on the bed with me. He's got a little personality disorder he's a different cat every day - somedays are better than others.

I can laughing sit here and say with all the love in my heart I'm not sure he's ever been a "good cat." He doesn't mean to ever do anything wrong he's just so hyper he can't help it
