What incites your cat to riot?

This is the moment just before Rascal goes psychotic (homicidal ideation in this case).
The chipmunk is behind the glass and stuck inside of the screen.
I had to go out the front door and around to the back of the house to get said chipmunk out of the predicament. It took Rascal 20 minutes to calm down!

Haha chipmunks aren't common in our area, Kovu goes crazy over birds though. He will sit and chirp at them in the window for hours in the morning.

Just some observations, not sure which one is correct.

The chipmunk is female.

The chipmunk had no idea Rascal was there.

The chipmunk has been neutered as if he would have had balls they would have clearly been big enough to be revealed in the photo.

Not sure which one's correct and surprised that the bushed up rodent tail didn't give Rascal more pause.
