When I have our boys kitty pool out, we play fetch with RoboFish. Never thought about live fish, but I'm pretty sure one would eat them and the other would play with them. The one that would play with them will put his face underwater to grab a Robofish while his brother always needs to make sure he has one foot outside the pool. How brothers could be so different, I have no idea.

Too much raw fish causes thiamine deficiency. Manufacturers of cat food add thiamine to the food but you still have to be cautious about heavy metals in commercial cat food containing fish. Fish is listed 3rd in most allergen studies for cats, behind beef and dairy products, as a food causing allergic reactions.

It doesn't matter although there is anecdotal information that male and female or 2 males tend to get along better than 2 females. I think it's important to try to get compatible personalities -- i.e. a dominant cat and a confident non-dominant cat will get along better than 2 dominant cats.

As long as the cats are altered it doesn't really matter what sex they are, but as Deborah pointed out, females tend to be more - ummm, bossy for lack of a better word, so helpful if at least one of them has a more laid back personality.

Everything that I've read so far in my research has said that tuna and salmon are VERY bad for savannah digestion and can cause them to become very sick, but most of the suggestions for good savannah food that I read from other SCC members are things like "chicken and salmon". Does anyone have any experience, offer some guidance, anything to watch out for? Trying to expand my Savvy's palate to things beyond "chicken and turkey". Is this even a good idea? Do cats get tired of having the same thing day in and day out? I know drastic diet changes are bad for digestion, but does that include flavor changes in the same food brand? Please help

I have been feeding salmon and chicken for quite a while...the Salmon is Alaskan Wild Salmon. I would never feed Tilapia. It is a farmed fish that contains methyltestosterone, is raised in crowded environments and often fed a chicken and pig feces diet - disgusting. Any wild alaskan fish is usually pretty safe and what I eat as well.
