Allergy testing / vomiting

With IBD chronic vomiting is a sign when the stomach is involved and chronic diarrhea is usually when the intestines are involved. Or in some cats, both parts of the digestive tract are involved. That was the reason for them doing the ultrasound was to check out the thickness of his stomach and intestinal linings. Vet thought Shango's stomach wall may have been a little thicker, but it was such a small difference it was hard to even tell. Without doing abdominal exploratory surgery, they couldn't make a definitive diagnosis and the vet suggested to hold off on that for the time being and see how the cerenia/rabbit helped, especially since he didn't have other symptoms. I'll take him back in about another 4 months (he was last seen about 2 months ago) and have them do another ultrasound and allergy testing.
If it is his stomach, endoscopy can get a biopsy sample to do the pathology...if your vet has that capability. I've done that with a couple of mine over the years..

Unfortunately our vet does not offer endoscopy. I have considered taking him to another vet about 40 minutes away that does. He doesn't do well at the vet and has to be sedated so I try not to take him in unless absolutely necessary. I do FINALLY have him eating 100% raw rabbit. Unfortunately, without the cerenia he still vomits so completely eliminating the turkey didn't solve the problem so I am still having to give 1/2 pill every other day.

Glad to hear you've got him eating the raw rabbit, that's great. Completely understand the whole stress thing in taking him to the vet if it upsets him so much, I'm kind of the same with Vito as he too gets stressed and even wets himself though on a few occasions it's been unavoidable. Have you tried giving him the cerenia every second day instead of daily? Just a thought !!!
