Hi all,
It's been a while since I last posted here. Anaya, F2, is doing very well. She turned 1 year old last month and in April it'll be 1 year since I got her. There were some challenges at first and she has come a long way. She was spayed last year in June and there wasn't any issues post surgery though she was kept in a bedroom for a few days. She has learned to trust me and lets me pet her - of course, when it's to play she'd rather play! She's a lot like a dog, really, she can't get enough of fetching toy. When I have the toy in my hand about to throw it she would make rapid chirps waiting for it. She can be quite funny at times. She uses the cat wheel daily - at first, I was a bit worried she wouldn't touch it but at one point last year in the morning I went downstairs and saw her walking in cat wheel. I tried to lure her to get on the wheel but to no avail so I taped a toy mouse on the wall next to the wheel and I guess that is what it took to get her on the wheel.
I used to feed her Wellness dry food until a few weeks ago both cats (including Jake) would not touch the dry food. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or something changed. An acquaintance had similar experience. I was forced to get samples from local pet store and at this point they seem to like Fussie Cat dry food. Not sure if it's any good (recommendations are welcome - I can always get samples and see what they like - not going to buy Wellness again). It's really a challenge to get Anaya to eat canned food - I've tried 20+ different ones. She would sniff the food then try to "bury" it and the canned food either ended up being eaten by Jake or left to dry. I also tried raw food (couple different ones from local pet store) she wouldn't touch them. The only thing she would eat is boiled chicken which I feed her almost every night. I know it probably doesn't have much nutritional value. In few instances, I would feed her small portion of boiled chicken and canned food next to it. I'd say 2 or 3 times since last year she'll actually eat canned food.
She gets along fairly well with Jake, 14-year old Bengal boy though he doesn't like it when she wants to play. He likes to play on his terms and likes his naps. I may get F4 SV later this year. It's been an interesting experience thus far and she's pretty sweet.
Attached are the pictures that were taken between last year and yesterday.
