Directing to a Different Sleep Spot?

two nights so far since the weekend, and kratos discovoured the bottom drawer of my dresser as a good place to hide away (its a half open drawer). I'm starting to think i would rather he NOT sleep in bed with me most of the time. Im fine with letting him sleep in the drawer, but im wondering is there a way to condition him to sleeping in a certain spot through reinforcement? Like if i bought him a bed, is there any chance he would even sleep on it?

Cats love a half-open drawer to sleep in. I have many hair covered clothes to testify to that.

You can keep the drawer closed, and try another bed elsewhere. You might sprinkle catnip in the new bed, place it in the open drawer initially, or put one of the clothing articles in it from the drawer since his scent is on it, but in my experience...you can lead a cat to a preferred sleeping spot...they ultimately choose where they prefer to sleep

I personally always worry that a cat or kitten will climb into the open drawer, get behind it without you knowing it, and get slammed when you try to close it, not knowing they are there.....so we try to keep drawers closed, but occasionally my fiance forgets the rule here....I do tend to be a worry wart about those things

I started using some really awesome beds for doggies and all my cats sleep in them....they are so soft, easy to wash and save on couches and beds...
