After saving for a kitten, getting one from a irresponsible breeder, said kitten having hereditary heart complications, going broke (savings and all) on trying to keep kitten through medical bills, eventually having to find a great home that could care for him (with immense help from Bridgette, you are a hero), saving again, and (with the help of Bridgette again) finding a responsible breeder... an F2 boy will be coming home very soon. What a journey its been with this breed, I know many people in this world (though likely not on this forum) judge heavily on purebred animal culture, I also know that answers about life are at many times blurry - the things ive learned from this experience will always stay with me and I will always be proud for going-for-broke on that sick animal that eventually reached an amazing home. I'm not sure if I'll get another purebred cat or not, but I didn't want this to be my sad ending to the story about my fascination with Savannah cats. Whether it was the right thing to do or not I am not sure. I am only human. Cheers other animal lovers that are simply searching for happiness and perhaps a few along on the way.

It sounds as though you've had a rough time of it, and I am glad in the end your are getting the kitten of your dreams. Do you have any pics to post of your new baby?

Thanks, I learned so much from the initial experience if I had some way of doing it over I know I could have kept the first baby, but with the complete lack of help from the breeder (Had no idea about pet insurance and wasn't informed, they didn't help answer any questions that would help aid the situation, and wouldn't take the kitten back herself) combined with not going to work just made it extremely hard to mend any part of the problem. I ended up facing the classic situation where what I wanted wasn't right for the cat and had to do what was best for Babu's health. I keep a photo on my fridge and miss him all the time. So even if it hits the fan again I believe I am more prepared and this time around. Sorry for the earful...

Awww, he is sooo adorable!!! Does he have a name yet?
Thank you, I think so as well! :D He doesn't officially, but Steven Hawking (RIP) is the only thing that has crossed my mind as of yet (Stevie for short?!). I haven't met him yet but he is local so Ill visit as soon as I can to see what kind of cat he is!

We're hear to listen and help when we can. Several of our members have been through similar situations and we can empathize. The support system here is imo one of our most valuable assets.
I truly appreciate the time, energy, and money you and everyone takes out of their busy lives to support fellow SV lovers, it does not go unnoticed! I'll be donating again soon.
