That DOES suck! Hmmmph. I cannot believe they would not want to help the kittens find homes. Taking your video off their FB page is really low, in my book.

I am very glad my vet office goes above and beyond with finding kittens homes that need them.

Is there another vet office you can try? What about making flyers with the kittens' pics and tacking them up anywhere you can find? Most pet shops have bulletin boards for that purpose. Try local pet groomers/sitters?

It might not hurt to ask your vet's office if they would consider showcasing them, even if they did take the video down....just for a day or two?

Hi all,
I find it sad, I was all set to adopt a Savannah but it turned out to be a scam. now I hear of Felines in need and no one seems to want them to have a furever home :(
Ahh well I guess I will have to keep searching, I hope the kitties in this thread will have better luck than I am.

So sorry to hear you got caught in a scam - sounds like you found out in time though thank goodness! I would just mention - if as your username suggests that you live in TX you need to check out your local laws. TX law requires permits, specific housing requirements, and liability insurance to own a Savannah, however many counties and cities have completely outlawed them :(

Hey Patti,
Yes I do live in Texas, Guess I will have to go back a few steps and check on the laws here, Used to be one could own even a tiger here if you had 2500.00 to buy one. I guess the laws were rewritten some time back.
Ahh well. looks like I might have had better luck than I thought. Not that this will prevent me from adopting, I just might have to work a bit harder, Guess it is a good thing that I live in the country, now I just have to see what the requirements are for Bastrop county.

Thanks Patti :p

Of well, seems that my county bans Savannahs, now I have to look into the remaining options, 1 work to change the law. 2 Move to a better educated place.
Sigh, it never gets easier!

Thanks again Patti, seems I will have to be happy with photos of Servals and my part Bengal kitty

Unfortunately these kittens are in the care of this particular vet, so I really don't understand why they took the off their page...unless it was because there are 2 other kittens in the care of another vet tech and they weren't included in the video.
I work mostly in the dog daycare that is attached to the vet, so I posted it on our Facebook page and people have been seeing it there at least.
I was disappointed to say the least...they have over 200 people that 'like' their page and would have seen the kittens.
I did talk to the vet tech who is fostering the kittens, and she didn't think there would be enough room in our reception to put up a cage for them.

Anyways, I will keep trying to find solutions for these babies, and maybe find a new job :p

That is really strange, and a bit dumb of them to take the pictures down off their Facebook page. I don't really understand why unless they are concerned that it might change people's perception that they are an adoption center and not a vet? I'm not sure, but that seems pretty strange.

I used to foster kittens when I was in college. My girlfriend, now fiancee talked me into it. My single roommate loved it because it was an easy way to bring girls over.....:big grin:

We used to have to bring them in from Thursday - Sunday back to the adoption center for their open hours. They also had a website where the foster parents could upload photos and pictures. The whole place was very well maintained.

I fostered for a total of two years and I think I went through 6 or 7 litters. They all found homes except for one litter of six I had. (Yes six kittens it was insane to have six kittens running around an apartment.)

A year or so later I went back to visit and to my surprise Tyler and Toffee were still in display cages and now grown cats. Everyone else had been adopted except for them. It made me upset, but 4/6 was still pretty good. I'm pretty sure they did end up finding homes for them.

Here is the website if you would like to see an example of what is in my opinion a great rescue center.
