Askari is a stunning boy!
As for the castration - if you perform late castration (after he has started to develop sexually) it will assure that the growth plates have closed since it is the release of those hormones that triggers their closing. Cats that are neutered early (around 3-4 months before they start to produce testosterone and other hormones that come with maturity) may continue to grow for a longer period of time because they will never produce those hormones that trigger the closing of the growth plates.
Thanks for the info Patti, I will be taking Askari to the vets in a few weeks to be castrated he will be approx 6 months so from your advice Askari has probably already started producing the hormones.
