Hello!

Crixus

Savannah Kitten
I'm soo new to this and have so much to learn and I'm soo excited There is a forum for this and people willing to help me. I have two f4's, I've literally had them since the day they were born, and I recently just got a 7mnth old f1.. Boy is my f1 different lol he chews and eats everything!! I love all the noises he makes and how talkative he is. I need some advice on really good sturdy toys for him. I've only had him two weeks and he's warming up a little to me, it'll take a while. I'll lay in the bed and just hang out with him and let him do his thing :) he gets so nervous and growly when I stand up though. He's eating great and loves one of my other cats. Any advice is greatly appreciated :) thank you!

Welcome, Crixus! He is beautiful! It sounds like you are doing the right thing with your new boy. There are a lot of good threads on the forum about sturdy toys...just do a search in the box in the upper right hand corner of the page. Have you tried engaging him in play with a wand toy when he growls...to divert his attention and help his nervousness?

There are others on here with F1's and hopefully they can give you some great advice...that's great he seems to like on of your other cats already and eating well :)

Would love to see pics of your other two SV's, too!

Welcome, and congratulations on your new F1 boy! As Pam said, there are lots of threads here about different toys. Personally I have found the best toys are the empty cardboard tubes from the TP and paper towel rolls, cardboard boxes, balls (bigger than a golf ball, smaller than a tennis ball) to throw and fetch, wand toys made from carriage whips or similarly sturdy material, and laser lights - although there are some who discourage the laser lights as they feel they frustrate a cat because they can't 'catch the prey'...

Welcome Crixus. I too just joined and have a lot to learn. I have 2 F2's and they are chewers. I went on line and purchased Critter Cord and re-arranged my furniture to hind cords. This worked for me about a month then they figured out how to remove the cover and I am back to having just about nothing plugged in. Critter Cord might work for you. Maybe someone can provide us with another option to stop the chewing.

You might try taping the Critter Cord together and then coating it with Tabasco sauce, bitter apple spray, liquid soap, or other noxious substance.
