Hi,

I moved to another appartment four days ago, and the température is around 30-35 outside. We dont have clim.

(We also move again in 1-2 year, i want à house)

I also paint the appartment , try to kept off Abbas from paint but it not too easy, this morning he have à paw in paint, he scrach my wife when I'm trying to clean it up.

Is it dangerious ?

Abbas lost à lot of hair....he is mowling trying to say something and also kiss. (Stress ??)

Another question, he is very skinny is it normal ? My sister in joke she ask if he eat enought...he eat half can per day with à full portion of dry food.

Thank

That's hot, but cats live in hotter climates outside. As long as he has had some time to adjust he should be fine. Keep him hydrated. If he's not voluntarily drinking water, add more to his food.

Latex paint won't be too dangerous, depending on the pigments used. Cleaning it off quickly would be important so he doesn't ingest it. Oil-based paints would be much more serious and a vet visit might be a good idea.

All over or in spots? Cats shed to adjust their coat to the climate, so, if it's all over, and not so thin you can see his skin it's probably fine.

Savannahs tend to be on the skinny side most of the time. My Savannahs at 3 and 4 years have a noticeable depression at the abdomen when standing. However, they should feel solid and the backbone should feel well covered--you should be able to feel the nobs but it should well muscled.

Kittens should have as much as they will eat. It's later in life that it's important to regulate their food intake.

Chris covered most of it. If it is warm, most cats will shed fur and it always seems like a lot. Unless his coat looks really thin or it's in patches then all is well.

I agree, kittens should be given as much food as they wish to eat...until a cat shows signs of getting chubby I continue to feed them what they want. Some cats have higher metabolisms hence will need more than you might calculate they should be eating. And not all cats wish to eat kibble...

Just my opinion.. But he sounds like he is trying to tell you he is hungry. You say he is meowing and trying to kiss. I think it is more hunger than stress. My opinion...

That's pretty toasty but I'll bet Abbas is faring better than you and your wife are! Do you have fans in the apartment? That can usually help cool things down by several degrees. If Abbas only started losing hair after you moved it is undoubtedly shedding to compensate for the warmer climate.

As for the mowling - it could be stress, or as Cary mentioned it might be hunger. He gets 1/2 of what size can of food? 12oz? 3oz? And what is a 'full portion' of dry food? If you think he is skinny (bony) then you should gradually increase the amount of food you give him until he starts leaving some leftovers - that will give you an idea of how much he needs to eat.

Hopefully he did not ingest any of the paint and you have been able to remove it off him by now.

It's running pretty toasty warm out here and we all survive. Plenty of water is the best thing you can offer :)

I agree with the others about feeding-- feed him as much as he wants at this point, particularly if you think he's too skinny. If he's eating as much as he wants and you still think he's skinny or if he's super picking at anything you give him and you think he's too skinny, than a visit to the vet isn't a bad option.
