How bout a nice mouse?

Does anyone recommend a particular kind of whole mouse to feed kittens? My F3 loves them, and I only bought a half dozen from the pet store. I think I need to stock up (although i just got read the riot act for storing them in the upstairs freezer... where the family dinner sometimes comes from).
Any info on size of mice to buy would be great! Or tips on feeding feeder mice?
