Hi everyone, I have a 2-year-old Ocicat who is extremely friendly with all other pets (cats included). She's currently best friends with my housemate's kitten (domestic longhair) but as they'll be separated this fall when my housemate moves out. I want to get her a companion and given that I've been wanting a Savannah for years and can afford one, I'd love to bring in a Savannah.
As much as I love my Ocicat, the volume in which she meows is intense and disruptive. It's not a normal meow- it's a scream. One that can be heard from outside, standing 50+ feet away. Yes, she's spayed and it's not boredom- she will scream as she's playing with the kitten or one of her toys or even when she's cuddling on my lap. It's just her thing. I don't mind constant chatter or anything. My previous cat was a Devon Rex who made all kinds of little noises all day and it was so cute. I've done a lot of research online about Savannahs and I haven't been able to find much on how vocal they are or how loud they can be. Because many Savannahs are crossed with Ocicats at some point or another, my concern is that a Savannah will be just as bad or even worse. So... just how loud is your Savannah?
This isn't a dealbreaker for me, but something I'll have to consider and see if I can work with. Any answer, good or bad, is appreciated
