Hi! I have a 6 yr old F3 that is a normal 12lbs and just got a new F2 kitten a couple months ago. He was bigger than he sister when we picked him up from the breeders at 9 weeks old but is now 16 weeks old and 8lbs. Is this normal?? When do they stop growing at such a fast rate? He has already out grew a bunch of his toys, beds, and a harness.

How big he gets depends on his genes. He'll keep growing long and tall or about a year and then put on muscle for another year. Cats are fully mature at 3 yrs.

I like reading about sizes - do breeders price kittens based on estimated adult size? Just curious - my 8month old F6, Robin Sparkles, was at the low end of her siblings and I think she may be the runt. Since I’m not at all hung up on her adult size, it doesn’t matter to me, what matters is that she is loveable and funny and she exceeds those requirements. She weighs 7.6lbs as of 3 min ago.

It's fascinating to watch them develop! I thought Ninja was going to be a smaller cat since he was the second smallest in the litter, and severely malnourished when we got him - less than a pound. At 10 months he is pushing 13lbs, and still growing. We expected Bear to be bigger since he clearly got more of the Maine Coon sauce, he is pushing 15lbs and also still growing. Both are pretty skinny so I'm curious to see what happens during their second year.

Robin Sparkles is so darn CUTE!

Thank you! I love following all these kiddos - I follow a ton on Instagram - well, Ms Robin Sparkles does - she demanded her own account.

Lol From How I Met?

Uh huh! We mostly call her by her alter ego Luna though, as in Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. Her cousins, my daughters cats, I mean, wizards are named Harry and Ron so we had to add to the wizardry!!

Robin sparkles don't look much smaller then Amara (f3), Amara is 7.7 month and 9lbs 13oz. She's been stuck around that weight for about 2 weeks now. Her lil sister Squeakerz is 6.3 months (approx don't know exact b-day) been stuck at 6.4 lbs for 3 weeks.
