He gave in just after I started this thread. He must've known about it and got embarrassed. He's funny that way, you know.
He missed both meals yesterday, and AM meal today, so he ate about 1/2 his ration early this afternoon. I'll see how he continues, and if he doesn't eat with his usual gusto, I'll take your advice and use a more gradual approach.
I have him off of the Royal Canin and he's been on 100% Evo Chicken and Turkey Cat Formula kibble. Very high protein, moderate fat and very low carbs. 88% animal protein and 11% vegetable (legume high availability). Drinking is no problem for him. In fact, it's worrisome the amount of water he drinks all day. He urinates more frequently than I do...........and that's a lot.
I'm taking him to the vet Friday for a microchip implant, and the third FVRCP shot. I'll mention his thirst to her and see what she says.
Had him in the car again today. This is about the 6th time, and he seems to be OK with it. He's a little too calm, almost zombie-like. I don't think he's getting car sick, but he's awful relaxed. He's not flatulent, so that's I good sign, as that's a good indication of distress. He eats the treats I give him while he's in the car......another good sign. He either nests in the passenger footwell, or on my lap. He sits up from time to time to look out the window. Not a peep out of him, and his early restlessness has passed the last few excursions we've had.
