Mine is mounted on the wall above the fireplace, so they don't often get up there...part of the catwalk is right over the TV though so they lay up there and look down ;)

We all know "seeing things that aren't there" particularly when they are frisky but this is a new low. :D

I set African Cats to record on my DVR a week and a half ago. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.

Seriously, there is a school of behavioural psychologists who are quite definite that only humans can think and reason, no animals (sic) can do that, and that dogs and cats (and presumably other animals) are unable to comprehend flat pictures on a screen. I suppose that is why my once-upon-a-time labrador would run around the TV searching for things that moved off screen, and keep a very low profile when large cats were shown. He was very brave once, when a statue of a calf was shown! And talking sculpture, the greatest compliment a famous Norwegian (animal) artist got must have been when an English setter absolutely refused to move away from the birds it saw: sculpture of three penguins!
And how do these strange psychos explain cats and mirrors?

People that think animals don't have feelings, and can't think or reason have clearly never had a pet :p
I am dogsitting a westie who goes CRAZY every time an animal shows up on TV. She makes these weird noises...they sounds like moys so we nick named her Moy Moy :p
We have a video of Tiger, my dsh, chasing the cars from Nascar around the circuit and pawing the crashes, it was hysterical

This was me last night (almost)...I was trying to come with with distraction tools yesterday while typing on the computer. Luckily we have 2 computers in the office, so on the other one I found a YouTube site called "videos for your cat" (http://www.youtube.com/user/Videosforyourcat)....who would have thought that somebody would do this! Sofia went NUTS! It's a free option too :)

This is a real gem of a link/channel! Thank you!

I tried this out last night for less than 5 minutes. Isis and Ra both went bounding after to whack the TV. Time to make some furniture adjustments tonight before I attempt at playing these videos again!

Sorry for the short clip, Isis was all over the sound bar pawing at the birds. I cropped the more entertaining reactions from Ra and posted it up to YouTube before he lept off the tree to attack. No TVs were harmed during this experiment.
