Just avoid using Ketamine. Many vets no longer use it, but can't hurt to mention it.

Ketamine is a commonly used induction agent but has been known to cause complications and side effects in some cats (NOT just Savannahs) so best to avoid it if possible. Having said that, I have found that nowadays when ketamine is used it is done so as part of a cocktail with one or more other agents, which seems to work better, with less potential for complications.

Best wishes on your boys surgery today. It's usually hardest on the Servant. Had my twins altered 2 months ago and spent a full 24hrs with them fur when they needed me. Heart wrenching fur me, especially with the girls. Boys recover ohh so much quicker. Their surgery is much less invasive.

Boy's are ohh sooo much less traumatic than Girls's!!! Both Rufio and Sampson were a quick recovery. Spot's was the worse, she was so out of it, and Tink was almost as bad. Slept with and cuddled all of them, till they were able to function properly, helping them up and down, and whatever!!!!. Always feel that after surgery care is a second bonding experience.

With the twins, it was almost funny. Both blamed the other fur their inconvenience, and slept separate fur a few days. Tink slept with me, Ruf was in the cat tree condo, he didn't want anything to do with sis.:roflmao:
