Welcome Alanna and Tux! He is just stunning
I am so very sorry to hear about your first boyFIP is a terrible disease.
I don't think Tux is a lavender. His spots are too dark. What color did his breeder say he was? What color is his tail tip? If it is dark brown, he is chocolate (perhaps chocolate silver with his very light coat); if the tail tip is black he is a brown spotted tabby. He is most definitely not a blue spotted tabby either.
A lavender colored cat is almost a purple shade in person, and is the dilute of chocolate, as Brigitte says. I had one born here several years, not a Savannah, but a lovely girl nonetheless....this is a pic of my lavender kitten, now owned by a family member. . View attachment 9699
Yes, the breeder told us he was lavender! She even wrote it on the TICA forms that she mailed to us. His tail is definitely dark but not black. I will get a second pair of eyes on it.
But WOW the kitty you posted has radically different colored spots than Tux. I will definitely be looking into this. Thanks for the info!
