Does anyone have a suggestion for a cheaper, natural litter that is softer and that they have found to be successful? I switched to pine because I wanted something healthier and more organic than clay, and now we're back where we started.

No. He is now using the litter box for both #1 and #2 though! I am so very relieved, we haven't had any messes since switching to kitten attract. He is still nibbling on the litter though, which worries me since it is a clay clumping litter.. Have a vet appointment next week for his last booster, plan on mentioning it then.

I had litterbox problems too when I bought Ulysses and Jackson home as well. The kitten attract litter cure it. Ulysses do not like the clay pellets, but want a more sand like litter. Both kittens loved the kitten attract and rolled in it for a couple of days. This wore off tho. I eventually was able to switch them over to regular litter and have no problems. I did have to use the isolation method for a couple of weeks to retrain Ulysses to the litterbox.
