We picked her up from the breeder Dec. 28. She was the most wonderful Christmas present from my husband! We knew she was very shy from the start so the fact it has only taken a month and a half to get here is amazing, especially with the trauma of a spay in between. Though I want to claim cat whisperer status, the truth is this board and Nyah's breeder helped me understand Nyah will pick what she is ready for and when. I am so very lucky to have this girl, wow what a personality was just waiting to come out! She talks all the time, she plays non stop, to include jumping out and scaring the Chihuahuas every chance she gets. I swear I hear her laughing when she does this! She is a little spotted trouble maker, and even my military husband who likes order in all things dotes on this kitten to the point he pretends not to see her on the kitchen counters and won't move if Nyah is comfy in our bed. She is training him well! We haven't had her long, but I can't imagine not having her at this point. I am an animal lover for sure, but this one has stolen my heart quicker than most! Ok, I will stop gushing now. I just have to most wonderful SV in the world, obviously!

Oh, gush on Becki! lol! That is what we are here for and that what this forum is all about! I am so happy for you guys, and your story (and your gushing) sure put a smile on my face!

I am so glad I never said never! My shy little Nyah is right at this moment curled up in my lap, her purr registers 8.6 on the Richter scale. I have strep and feel awful. I wonder if she set aside her no laps rule to make me feel better? It is working, baby Nyah, if that was your intent. Of course I am now scared to move and ruin this!
Never say never. One of my big ole lumps of an F2 boy (who is now six and always been shy since the day he was born) has decided to be a lap cat. I have no idea why.

I do hope you feel better soon, strep is not fun and so painful )-:
