Eddie & Mojo scream for food....they have a bad habit but I find it cute. A scream that has to be twice as loud...wow...my cats do not get fed early despite all the noise for us this is a "playtime"....can F1s have bones like dogs? It would give him something to gnaw on instead...

Dehydrated Treat such as whole life or catmadoo chicken or salmon are not junk - they are pure chicken or pure salmon and great treats for cats.

Kibble is not exactly what many of us consider a healthy diet, but it is obviously working for you and Louie...I agree with Patti on the supplements...have you tried giving Louie some raw chicken?

Possibly. I recall giving him raw salmon and salmon skin.

You will have to convince me of the pitfalls of dry kibble. I realize that this is a touchy subject here, so I should now drop out of further discussion in that vein.

I have to amend a previous post where I stated that I was feeding him more than the recommended amount shown on the bag for an active, 15 pound cat. I was feeding a bit shy of the recommended amount, until yesterday.
Despite this, his weight has always been what I consider ideal. His energy level high.

I fear now that he will become lethargic and overweight.

He is not going to become lethargic and overweight from a bit of extra food... As for kibble, you can read the pitfalls for yourself by using Google... It is a known fact that kibble causes all kinds of health issues in the long run...

A 2 YEAR OLD F1SV screaming for food & this has been going on for a few months....somebody fed his kitty quicker because the poor baby must've been starving...these are smart cats. I encouraged my fur babies vocalizations with increased attention, perhaps while you decide on the future diet, type, & amount you can tune out the screaming? Essentially giving less attention to him during unwanted behavior & while you're at it use a little behavior modification trick....feed him early. While he is munching away get a second bowl ready for the next feeding, put a lid on it, HIDE it & 20 minutes before he normally starts his screaming go grab the bowl, set it down & walk away, after a few days of this set it down 15 minutes early, then 10, then 5, etc...My cats can tell me what time it is yours probably can too...they could care less about the ALWAYS available dry Blue, it's the Frozen they want so bad they are willing to put up with my brushing & crooning, lol.

Hey Louie'sDad. I highly recommend the freeze-dried chicken and the freeze-dried duck hearts as treats. They are made simply by freeze drying chicken breast or duck hearts. No additives whatsoever so you can feel good about giving Louie these as treats. I get mine thru Amazon.

My furkids are on a slight diet now - they are 21 and 23 months of age so I figure much of their growing is done so I am weighing all their food and reducing the amount a slight bit to figure out what they really need. For the most part, I find that even if they scream for more after their meal is done, they don't eat much of a second helping. What they really seem to enjoy is a couple of duck hearts of pieces of chicken an hour or so later as a treat.

Our eight year old is very vocal and I was also concerned he was not getting enough. Vet insists his weight is perfect and should stay that way. We have ignored the excessive meowing for months and he might just be anxious when his bowl is empty. (He quickly eats his food each time he is fed) Currently eats nulo indoor grain and gluten free (helps with stinky poo)

Freeze dried is a great idea and im very open to trying non kibble.

Open to any suggestions on supplements.
