Raw food diet

Hello Everyone! I am getting 3 F4 Savannah kittens and was reading that a raw food diet is good for them. Is it only ok to give them chicken heart, liver and pancreas or is it ok to give them cow as well? And I do know that the entire diet will not consist of just this. Thank you!!

Yes it is OK to feed secreting organs from different animals, as long as the cat can tolerate that protein. I highly recommend starting with a single protein source, then adding any new proteins very slowly and one at a time.

Also keep in mind that although heart is an organ in a living being, it is fed as muscle meat since it does not secrete. And you want to make sure you have a balance of 80% muscle meat, 10% bone and 10% secreting organ. With good sources of taurine included and either sardines or Salmon oil for Omega 3’s. (I’m not sure how much you know about raw feeding so I’m just throwing that out there since many people get confused on this)

CatNutrition.org Is a good resource to read about feeding raw. And you can always ask here, many of us have fed raw for quite some time.

Congrats on your kitties!! We’d love to see pics in an introduction forum when you get them.
