Our boys didn't care for meats other than chicken. I grind bone in thighs, add liver, gizzards, and hearts. I make 30# batches and freeze in 8oz containers. Has worked well for us and they usually lick the plate clean.

We started using freezer bags to save space in the freezer.

Did that once, but we feed two days (only fed chicken once a day) from one container, and a bag leaked in the refrigerator once. I was forbidden from using bags again. We have an extra freezer in the garage.

Ninja gets bored of chicken, or doesn't like it, except for the hearts. I kept the basic mix I made and have been adding different meats to balance it out, changing every couple of days. He seems to like beef and rabbit best. Bear doesn't care, he likes FOOD. His food, Ninja's food, my food... lol

Side note: We've noticed way less odor from stool, but a slight increase in urine smell since ditching canned - normal?

Urine doesn't usually smell bad - is Ninja neutered? You might add extra water to your raw mix to make sure he's getting enough hydration.

Yep, both Ninja and Bear are neutered. It's not terrible, just a bit stronger than before, noticed when cleaning the box today. I will add extra water, for sure, and see if it continues.

Thanks Patti!
