Savannah litterbox woes....help?

I have four litter boxes and they are all clear. Three of them belong to Atticus, as prior to him joining our family and being a picky little toad, they all happily shared one box. :) They are the larger boxes he doesn't seem to mind the jump it is the litter, but he does have one very low box with a pee pad in it. I just use the big storage boxes for littler, they seem to work better. He's just six months so he's not all that big as of yet. I can almost see the disdain on his face when his little feet hit the litter. He perches with three feet on the side of the box when he poops. I will try that litter, I haven't seen it in the pet stores here (I'm in Canada) but I can order it off Amazon if need be.

He is SBT. I tend to change the pee pads once he's peed on them, they are easy to pick up and toss.

I very much appreciate everyone's replies, other than his somewhat problematic litter box habits he is a wonderful little kitty. Its the first exposure I have had to Savannah's but have had cats pretty much forever, and in multiples.

I will definitely try that cat attract litter and see if that works for him.

My boys like the cat attract enough that it's an event when the boxes get filled.

Also, try to find out what the breeder used for litter. Familiarity and expectation is always a large part of sorting things out.

If it is a texture thing you can also try kitten attract litter instead of cat attract. It has an even finer texture. And try not putting a lot in the box.

You can also get the additive and simply pour it on the pee pads, if that's what he is happiest with (maybe put it in a spray bottle so that you can lightly spray the pee pads without soaking them).

If he has not been to the vet, it could be a UTI. Another possibility is if he has nails that are so long that they are digging into his pads. This was a problem with my Scottish Fold. He gets UTI's and his nails have dug in twice thus pee outside of box. I am dealing with the same issue again. Stress brings on UTI's and daughter moved in with 3 cats temporarily in Jan. Her new home should be complete within 2 months and maybe then he will come around.

Thanks for everyone's help here. I tried the Dr. Easly's litter and that seems to be working like a charm thus far - very much appreciate the help.
