I was just wondering if anyone else did their last set of shots, neutering and mircochipping all at the same time/day? I was recommended to do this but I feel like that's too much on one day..any thoughts?

I would not combine neuter with shots. Too much stress all at once. Having the kitten microchipped while under for the neuter sounds good - the microchip needle is big!

I was also thinking the same thing! To do it on two different occasions. Thank you for your opinion :)

We did microchip and neuter at the same time, but no shots. I wanted the kitties to be asleep for the microchip. I don't feel comfortable combining vaccines with surgery, but that is just me.

My F2 boy actually had a minor reaction to the FVRCP+FeLV, it left a lump on him for about 2-3 weeks. I had the vet check it out just to be sure and all was good. Next kitten shot, the vet did the FVRCP separately and a week later then gave the feline leukemia vaccination then a week after that was his rabies. I waited about 3-4 weeks after the shots before I had the neuter. I suggest getting the shots done separately than the neuter/microchip, less stress and just in case there's a reaction to the shots you're not also having any surgery done until they are back in good health.

I agree, it's a good thing to implant the microchip during the neuter, but schedule the vaccines on a separate day if possible.
