These are incidents that are rare. Every cat owner on here has have had things happen to their cat.

Yes, accidents happen... but leaving a cat unattended after already having Zeus dangling from a tree due to falling and intentionally hitting a cat are not accidents. Those are both things that can easily be avoided.

When you say he looked quite funny dangling, I don't find that situation funny at all. I would have been terrified of the possibility that the cat could have strangled or hurt itself trying to get free.

Zeus probably reacts violently to you and bites because this is what he has learned from you... if I had someone that hit me on a regular basis when they didn't agree with my behavior I would probably react violently as well.

You really should consider re-homing Zeus to someone who can properly care for an animal. After reading some of your posts, I don't think you're capable of providing a good home to Zeus for the rest of his life... not when you decide you're tired of him and want to get a new pet. When adopting Shango, I made the decision wanting him to be a part of my life for the next 17-20 years. How can you even consider getting rid of an animal after having it for 6 years.... it's because of people like you there are so many pets in shelters and rescues.

So sad. I feel sorry for Zeus and the abuse he is subjected to. Zeus has got to be so stressed. Shame on you for laughing at your baby dangling from a tree. That's just wrong on so many levels. You don't love him or care about his well being, you should consider rehoming him now while he young. Don't wait 6 years. He will have a much better chance at finding a loving home that will reduce his stress, help address the behavior problems and thrive.

A "long spanking"? Are you completely out of your mind? Of course it doesn't "phase" him one bit! A cat cannot rationalize that you are striking him for what YOU consider bad behaviour. This fiasco started with poor Zeus hanging from a tree on his leash, a SERIOUS threat to his life, and you say he looked funny? Then you strike him for escaping the leash that could have choked/strangled him? Zeus sounds like he is in danger with you. I would report you myself if I could! My goodness!

Sorry to admins for ranting but I couldn't stop myself on this one - I've really had enough of these bizarre posts. They shake me up as a dedicated SV mama!!!

I don't understand the reason for the post and only think to get a reaction from the readers.
Aggression will only bring on more aggression.
