My stud boy went through a stage where he should have shopped at the Big and Tall store! Even judges mentioned it! Here is a pic of his chunk... He has slimmed down on his own :)
Aw.. lol That makes me feel a bit better. He just got neutered a month ago too, so Idk if that was a contributing factor.

I think it definitely can- my black DSH girl became a chunk immediately following her spay. We had to limit her food intake for a while (she was free fed before), but then she slimmed down and went back to a normal weight.

Has Kovu been neutered? I used to think only female cats would gain weight from alteration it but I noticed so did Keljin the few months afterwards. Now he is long and muscular, yet he has this "belly flap" of skin that isn't quite fatty, but it just dangles and makes him look a bit chubby :p when he lays down it looks pretty similar to both pics you shared!
