I don't think there is an average. But you are correct that if the male cat was unneutered he would be leaner for that reason and after neuter he will be less frenetically looking for mates and will settle to eat better and fill out more. It will take some time for the hormones to completely leave his system...
But in terms of growth, by leaving the neuter to later the growth plates would have closed early hence he will not tend to grow in height now so much. So bigger in terms of adding muscle and fat not in terms of getting taller.
